Volunteers

We are the San Diego Track Club (SDTC), a club organized for the purpose of supporting the development of distance running, track and field events, and related sports in San Diego County. We sponsor races and a marathon-training program, we help with putting on other events in the county and we organize an annual club awards dinner.

Volunteers perform all club management assignments, race day tasks, marathon training program jobs and various other activities. It is not just the Board of Directors, the Race Directors or the Coaches who are responsible for making the SDTC a success; it is all of us in the San Diego Track Club.

The club needs race directors, race workers, marathon training program aid station workers and people willing to serve in the leadership of the club. SDTC members are encouraged to do their part to keep our events highly rated and fees very low. If you are new to the club or a member of long standing, why not get to know other track club members by working an aid station or serving as a race course marshal? Ready for a challenge? How about assisting a race director or helping with the race closest to your home? If you benefit from the discounts that area stores give SDTC members, how about acknowledge those special deals by volunteering once a year?

Need some ideas about how to get involved? Click here for some ideas.

The SDTC Board of Directors has established a club policy for volunteers: A volunteer must be aged 18 years and up to be accepted as a volunteer at SDTC (including marathon training program) events.

If you would like to volunteer for an event listed here, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for the event. An email link is provided below for each event’s Volunteer Coordinator.
