Annual Awards Dinner

The SDTC Annual Awards Dinner will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2008 from 5:00 to 7:30 at the Scottish Rite Center’s Golden Eagle Auditorium. Tickets are complimentary to SDTC members. All we are asking is that you attend if you receive a ticket. There will be tickets available for guests at $15/guest. Our theme is “A Salute to Excellence.” Come celebrate with us the San Diego Track Club’s BEST!
The event will be catered by Ranch Catering. There will be a keynote speaker, Volunteer Recognition, Super Volunteer Award, Grand Prix Awards, Awards to the Best Runners, and the Spirit of SDTC Award.
Miguel Angel, Social chair, will be distributing tickets at Saturday and Tuesday workouts beginning Saturday, Oct. 25 through Tuesday, Nov. 11. An e-mail using Constant Contact will be sent out with more details. If we do not have your current e-mail address, make sure to let us know so you won’t miss this great event. Think the SDTC’s Oscars!!!

2009 Marathon Training Program

If you would like to train with the San Diego Track Club for long distance events, you are welcomed to sign up for the Rockin’ ‘n’ Runnin’ Marathon Training Program at active.com as of October 16, 2008. For more information about the Rockin’ ‘n’ Runnin’ Marathon Training Program Click Here. This program will likely fill up by the end of December, but it may close out as early as November.

25th Mainly Masters 10K

The 25th running of the Mainly Masters 10K will be held Saturday, December 6 on Fiesta Island. There will be two equivalent races; a race for runners 39 and under as well as walkers at 7:30 and a race for runners 40 and over at 8:00. Awards will generally be given in 5 year age divisions. The course is entirely on Fiesta Island, which will be closed to traffic at 7:00.

SDTC Board of Directors Election

As noted on the SDTC website, it is that time of year for the annual elections to the Board of Directors.
There are currently 15 sitting members of the Board each of whom serves a 3-year term - 5 members are placed on the ballot each year to facilitate a rotating election while maintaining consistency with the other members.
Please find attached the ballot for this year - kindly vote for 5 individuals and return your choices to Nancy Morris via:
* email selections to nancybmorris@sbcglobal.net
* print ballot and fax selections to 858-565-4844
* hand to Nancy in person
Votes will be tallied and elected representatives announced during the annual dinner on November 23.
Please note that in addition to those representatives elected, the Club President may appoint 5 additional “at-large” members - this decision will also be announced at the annual dinner.
